Clyde McDonald Huff, Jr. (Sam), 79, of Campobello, S.C. passed peacefully at home on Thursday, February 26, 2026. Sam was born in Brevard, N.C. on January 23, 1947 to Clyde McDonald Huff, Sr., and Willia Mae Kinsey Huff. Sam, known as Buddy Huff, attended Brevard High School, and then graduated from Blue Ridge Community College. Sam served as a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force during 1965 - 1969.
Sam retired from Dupont/Sterling/Agfa in 2005. He was an avid golfer for 58 years with "golfing buddies” who spanned the fairways throughout the United States. Sam was an active member of The Links O' Tryon Golf Course for over 30 years where his love and knowledge of golf was shared with members and friends. Sam could fill a room with his humor. He loved to laugh and never met a stranger without a smile. He loved music. His love of beach and Motown music resonated with each song and oh how he could sing every word!
Sam is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Lynn (Norris) Huff. He was a devoted husband and together they shared a wonderful and committed life of love and friendship. His love for Debbie always danced in his eyes and his favorite quote was "This kind of certainty comes but once in a lifetime.”
His surviving loving children are his son Brian Huff (Ginger) of Saluda, N.C., his daughter Charmian Cribb of Aynor, S.C. and his son Sean Huff of Aynor, SC. Also surviving are two additional daughters; Tina of Charleston, S.C. and Sheena of San Diego, CA. He is also survived by two sisters, Faye Willingham of New Bern, N.C., and Margaret Morgan (Phil) of Penrose, N.C. He is survived by nine Grandchildren, one Great Grandchild and numerous loving relatives.
Sam is predeceased by his mother, father and precious granddaughter, Farrah Rose Huff.
