Leon Allen Foy, age 72, of Tryon, North Carolina, passed away on April 6, 2024. He was born on December 31, 1951, in Columbus, NC. Leon was a dedicated father, a loyal friend, and a hardworking man.
Leon spent thirteen years serving as a police officer for the Tryon Police Department. He then went to work at Milliken (Hatch) in Columbus, where he dedicated over thirty-five years of his life as a valued employee. He retired with near perfect attendance, having missed only one day of work throughout his career.
Leon enjoyed the outdoors, wildlife, and auto racing. He loved cooking on the grill and spending time with his family. He also had a passion for researching and documenting the local history of Polk County, North Carolina.
Leon is survived by his son, Cameron Foy, of Green Creek, his sister Wilma (Raphal) Lynch of Mill Spring, and his brother John (Judy) of Tryon. He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Allen Foy, his mother, Edna Morgan, and his sister, Frances (David) Poole.
Leon attended Bible Baptist Church through online services and had a profound respect for Dr. Tommy Turner. Leon loved the Lord, reading, and studying the Bible.
